Juneteenth Blog-Spending your money at a business, and they treat you differently because of your race/background

It's Juneteenth today and I think of some of my ancestors who were not free on 4th of July Independence Day. In America, when fighting racism/discrimination people like to tell you to get over the past, it happened a long time ago. Nobody on this site, even other melenated people can tell me, nor speak on my exp living in a country that's still not truly free. I was excited to come to Chicago, I have anxiety because when I visited on my way to San Jose CA people were rude. I keep to myself and am alone in life, I try to move about so depression does not consume me. I decided to visit in June and I booked a place and the people were rude and very bigoted. Ignored my message about what time I can check in. People see I have a Puerto Rican name, I have funds, and when they see me it's worse they think they can scam and finesse me. I had to cancel after spending 494$, almost 500$ in cash and had to find another place. It's Juneteenth and in a country that's suppose to be free and equal to all regardless of race, background, and creed it is not to me as a Black and Brown man.
