I understand the frustration of so many men who never fight in any form. I love to wrestle and box but in my region about 30% of the members have never had a single match of any kind - no wrestling, no boxing, no anything. I'd fight most anyone. Two weeks from now I am boxing a guy clearly 60 lbs more than me and taller. Why? For the love of fighting!
I agree with the comments. I have found over the years the guys really into boxing and fighting things on respectful friendly basis. We want a guy into the same journey. It can be intense and take on all sorts of character but the best fights I have had are with guys with whom are friendly before, during and after the fight. That has nothing to do with intensity.
The hype, name calling, and all that BS has a place if both guys are into that. But real fighters are into the competition, trading power, learning, m2m bonding. Macho attitude is a waste of time to me.
Guys
I know most of the men in this group by their first names.
I agree with what you all are saying. One of the best pieces of advice I ever received was " Bob, don't take this stuff too seriously.." Like everyone, I have been stood up, faked out and as HFM says ' shit upon.
I also know whats its like to meet someone and give them and myself the fight I have been craving. It does take time. It takes patience.
And there are VERY few of us willing to go balls to the walls.. Straight, gay or bi.
Remember that. Most guys aren't willing to go for busted teeth, broken bones and potential harm. And we have all met the crazies that want to take us apart... with us wondering if this is a real Neo Nazi wanting to fuck up a fag.
My takeaway- KEEP training. Eventually you get a fight whether in the gym or someone wanting to have their first fight. And a fistfight is even rarer.
You Guys are all my heroes because YOU AREN'T AFRAID TO FIGHT. Most straight men (our peers) aren't in half the shape we are, don't have the drive or (the sex drive) we posses and won't fight.
Keep your fists up and wits about
you. It will happen
I have to agree here.
Most of the time the more aggressive the messages from a person, the more they call you names etc......those are generally the ones who are just trying too hard and they are 95% of the time fakes and liars.
So many guys love the talk, love the aggression, which I get as I love to fight and there is nothing like it. However there is a time and a place for that level of namecalling etc.
If 2 guys are serious, want/need to fight then they will meet no matter if they dont insult each other, dont get verbal with each other. Sure that CAN be fun but it is NOT the be all and end all of it.
On here and other sites I have been contacted by SO many guys who are very in your face and aggressive and insulting and then after a few weeks of this, the profile goes down, disappears.
If all you want is chat, then great there are plenty of guys into that. But dont waste ACTUAL fighters time.
I usually do not comment in these forums, however I've hit the point of so much frustration I have to comment.
I more than agree with the above statement. Because of the type of sport we want to participant, it usually taking real planning and effort. Once we are committed, we have to get the time off, find travel to the location of the fight, have things set for AFTER the fight (because in a true fight no one walks away without something) money has to be spend for travel, gas, checking or rent vehicles etc ... Add to that training, sparring and coaching to get ready for the fight.
Wish we had something to identify a true fighters from those who want to cyber or chat about fighting.
Exactly my friend.
That hits the nail even further on the head. The guys who insist on meeting NOW and have to have things right away are SO obviously not for real as the planning and the execution of a sport where, as you said, both guys are going to get hurt and need to sort time before AND after.
I wish we had that too but doesnt seem like there is as even the recommendations and past opponents thing can be faked it seems.
I blame life for the change. Everybody has a computer or a phone and therefore folks can go on line and pretend to be whatever they want. I do not blame or hold Meetfighterrs responsible for the problems this group is having either. The blame has to fall on the fakes and cyber guys and the men who are lying to themselves about themselves for this issue.
I have met fighters on the site who do not ever do cardio only lift. I had a person ask me how important training in a boxing gym really is???
Young guys assuring me they would kick my ass even though they have never boxed or had a lesson in their lives. Other men wanting to know what it feels like to have a busted nose or how fast black and blue marks disapper from site. Many others are into what do you wear when you fight how hard do you get? I could go on and on but if you are really asking any of those questions you do not belong in this group. You are instead a voyer ie fake bitch.
I started this group years ago in the hopes bareknuckle men from around the world would agree to rules, meet and fight.
I never ever expected it to turn into a mess like it has. Guys calling other guys fake because they will not travel thousands of miles at their own expense to fight.
Other men calling other men cunts???? how rude is that and stupid.
I cannot make the cyber fighters and total fakes leave this group. What I am asking for is that guys be honest and treat each other fair and with respect. I feel I have a right to ask for this because I am the guy who started this group over 10 years ago.
I had to move on from finding real matches on here as distance and money became a problem for me.
I can say as a general rule the louder a person screams and the wilder they talk the less likely they are to be real in any sense.
I do want to encourage the cyber guys to leave the bareknuckle group please you never were welcome here. As for the total fakes I hope you get stood up and shit on in life becuase you cause that sort of problem for all of us that are real in any sense of the term real.
