When I was like 12 years old in middle school, they gave me a book about some skinhead, who had a girlfriend but was most likely a little bit bi and in the book he jerked off thinking about some punk he was beating up a few hours before. That was a very interesting read I wasn't ready for back then, lol.
First of all I think it's not an exception. Many gay men are into brutal fights. A sexual fetish often intensifies over time. It starts with soft wrestling but at some point you might need a more extreme experience until it stops at some point.
In general I think reasons why people are into fighting are primitiveness, genetics, anxiety, hate, adrenaline and/or rejected (homo)sexuality.
Anxiety/hate - If people are afraid of or hating the person (reason could be the gender for example) they feel attracted to, they might develope a fetish for fighting them because they know what to expect. However, it's also possible to just end up being dominant. Especially with a high level of anxiety because then they might feel like they need control.
Also some people, who like fighting/SM may not feel enough by just kissing or having sex with a person and then they just need a more intensive way to have sex.
Adrenaline - People can get aroused by adrenaline. This is often (not only) the case for straight people, who are into brutal fights, where they can get injured. They might get addicted and need more and more danger.
Rejected sexuality - Some gay or bi people just don't feel comfortable having sexual interest in their own (or even the opposite gender), so they need to find a way to live out their inner desires in an "acceptable" way, even if it's just their own mind, that's holding them back. This goes hand in hand with being scared or hate.
All of this might be subconscious. It could be one of those things or more likely a combination and in the end the reason for it might be subconscious primitiveness and genetics. My father was also into prowrestling.
Human mind is very complicated, lol.
I'd be interested in reading more theories about this topic.
You’re right. I think there is often gay desire or hidden homosexuality in wrestling and brutal fight and SM play. I like beautiful bodies wrestling I think it is sexual and exciting
Yeah, it was definitely the case for me as well. In the past, I had a very competitive and hostile mindset and have been rejecting the fact, that I just wanna fight guys I'm attracted to because I thought it wasn't manly. Now I'm trying to calm down a little bit but I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to enjoy non competitive, erotic fights. I just feel like it would be an advantage to be able to enjoy both but somehow I don't really understand why people like it. Most people I met on dating apps were always questioning my sexuality, because I wasn't into anything else but hard fights. I feel like I need more intensity to be able to enjoy it but just having a sports competition isn't the answer either, so I'm kinda stuck between those two worlds.
You are not alone. I also identify as a gay man and have been into the more brutal matches since I discovered pro wrestling when I was about 9 or 10 years old. Love it when a match turns one-sided and bloody. Seems like most of the stuff on Youtube is from the 80's at the earliest, which is when I got my first VCR and started recording matches. Hope you find what you're looking for.
My dad was a huge pro wrestling fan and coined the phrase “fightsexual” to describe guys who get turned on by pro wrestling or other combat…he said whether you identify as heterosexual or homosexual didn’t really matter because that would be secondary to your excitement from watching wrestling….got to say I agree with him!
Anyways- what I’ve noticed about most “straight living” men who are fightsexual is that it’s the more brutal matches that get them going…where as “gay living” men tend to focus on the closeness and the physiques…
I’m the odd exception- I’m “gay living” but prefer watching the rougher matches and wish I could find the stuff my dad used to have locked away in his foot locker…I remember two matches he had where the heel used a real snake in the match after he pinned the jobber…and this was no silly “jake the snake” stuff….
Anyway you get the idea….anyone know where I can find the wild underground type stuff from the 50s-70s that my dad always seemed to find but now has vanished off the face of the earth???
Same here, although women fighting does absolutely nothing for me. Big burly men fighting, on the other hand....not just wrestling, but rugby, too.
Have to say that one-sided beatings don't interest me. To me, the best part of watching a fight–whether real or staged–is not knowing how it's going to turn out.

I agree. As a teenager, when my brother and I watched tv pro wrestling. As soon as the opponents were introduced we knew who would win. Boring.
