50’s to 70’s+ are great MEN to wrestle. When I first started the underground gay Wrestling community it was the older men who I enjoyed wrestling with. They knew l the moves and tricks of gay wrestling. Even today you’d find some 30’s-40’s wrestlers who prefer wrestling older men. Most of the time there’s no BS when wrestling older men because they’ve grown up wrestling and have seen all the BS already, and they don’t want to deal with it anymore.
Hi everyone. There are a few of us in our 70s who like boxing and wrestling... me being one.
I keep fit going to the gym and workout classes etc. I go to a regular gym 3~4 x a week and just started going to a Title boxing class for one time a week.
Over the years because of my 5'6"size and age boxing classes & punch bag workouts has been a better fit for me.
I love wrestling... but I have had bad luck learning the ropes with most guys much stronger than me ... I ended up getting injured and felt a bit frustrated.., OK, I let it go as the price for getting the experience.
Despite my age & size, I know Bjj wrestling can be fun, empowering & absolutely safe with ther right structured training. I had a buddy for a short training with me using the Gracie "combative" online program – I highly recommend it.
Anyway, I keep fit... stay safe... and have a welcome mat for boxers or bjj wrestlers.
I would suggest maybe 65 and older. There are probably more guys in their mid to late 60's that may not feel they fit in the 50 and over group. I think starting at 65 (or 60) widens the pool of guys while still being inclusive to 70+ guys.
And BTW - since I hit 66 I keep finding (or have been found by) guys 65+ who are pretty damn fit and agile and I know several 70+ guys who would kick my ass (or already have).
Being new to this site, I have found out that men from this age group are more willing to wrestle and show some techniques. They bring the experience of wrestling. I hope my age group is included in this. I welcome anyone that gets to my area, to wrestle and roll with me on my 20’ by 10’ wrestling mat . Wrestle on. !!
As far as I can see, no one actually started a Seventies Group yet. If no one does, I will be happy to get one going. OR, should we start with a Sixties group, since there are more guys on here in their Sixties, and an over Sixties group would include Seventies too. Better yet, how about an Over Sixties-Seventies group? Thoughts?
Hey Pennsy - I love the idea of a combined 60s 70s group. I guess if we do “over 60” we might end up with a few tough 80+ YOs too!! I know there are quite a few on this site.
So, is there actually an interest group for Seventies? Or at least Sixties? Just had a tagmatch with ages 64, 68, 69, and 69 involved, so I know there is interest in these groups. Who's starting the group(s)?
Where did your tag match take place? in PA? Would have liked to join you. Down here in FL there are a lot of guys in our age group who would join the group.
Will be 69 @ end of May & newly retired this year. Yes, makes sense to have a group over 70. Think there's enough of us who aren't injured past a point and can still roll adequately. Hoping to keep going as long as not crippled up & health stays decent. This is not unlike those elder runners & swimmers who are still at it.

I said I would be "happy" to start the group we are discussing. No longer happy to do that. If someone else wants to, go right ahead.
