Portalble ring help.

I've built a couple of private rings in houses with relatively large rec rooms. A partially finished room, like over a garage, is good. You can use 1/4 inch lag screws to fix a 20 inch 2x4 to two wall studs, three in each corner of the room at the height you want each rope, then put a 3/4 inch lag eyebolt in each at a 45 degree angle to act like a ring post. Then you can buy inch manila hawser at any marine supply store, get the turnbuckles and rope covers, corner cushions etc. from Ringside and you're in business. Tension on the ropes puts a compressive stress on the house structure, which actually supports it against the normal roof load.

The one side of the ring part, was just as a back up plan, if I couldn't find anything else... And nothing ever beats the full ring lol.

But it does look like I'm just going to build something.

and be careful with whatever the end product is, cuz if you wanna keep it cheap it probably wont be super sturdy. Good luck and make sure to show us how it turns out man.

So I'll make this short and sweet and see if anyone can help.

Quick story:
Bud and mine want to work each over in the ring, but local gyms are not private or charge way to much. So I was thinking about buying a portalble ring, but they are huge....

So my question:
Does anyone know of, or is able to buy, just a corner or a ring? Something we can throw arms over and work them hard in the corner?

Edit: yes I know how crazy this sounds, but hey have to think of something right?

I mean, to have a corner you need at least 2 other poles/posts. It wouldnt make sense for a retailer to sell just part of a ring, but you can definitely build something like that yourself. Just get some plastic connect pipes at lowes or home depot and some ropes. I think thats really your only option, that way it will be somewhat portable and what u want it to be

I'm thinking though if he wants to put somebody in the corner to work over, wouldn't that be too light? I mean even backing the guy into the corner could tip it. I'm not debating just trying to figure this out too!

i mean yes, but i dont see any other way to do it if he wants only 1 corner and doesnt want to buy a whole ring. Only thing you could do is build one yourself and i you want it to be like heavy duty then anchor it with some weight at the bottom or something like that. Use some heavy materials, theres no cheap replacement for a boxing ring sadly if you want the full experience
