I think it was a serious request.
Its not shyness. It's called privacy. In my case I don't feel the need to try and tell the world about my life. Those who are close to me know what I do. Those who aren't close to me don't need to know.
Some of the other guys may be there without their wife/girlfriend knowing about it. Others may have have visible jobs where it could get called into question (judges, etc.). Lots of reasons why people don't want to be publicized for attending a mixed wrestling event. I've seen the same reaction when a strip club foolishly allowed a film crew from a cable network into the club while it was operating. The crew was filming the girls topless on stage, so quite a few of them walked off the job for the night. Then the crew started shoving cameras in the face of the customers and demanding "interviews." 80% of the customers walked out at that point.
A reporter's desire to "get the story" doesn't over-ride peoples' basic right to be left alone, nor does it invalidate their privacy rights.
On June 15, at the Hit the Mat gym, Session Girls will present an all day event. Numerous session wrestlers will be in attendance from Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, Pittsburgh, and more. I'll be there podcasting the entire event.
I'm very sad about that I can't get off of my job to participate.
I adore Jen for what she is doing for the scene.
There also are other interesting girls, a few I just met and and a few I would like to meet.
Today I'll be on the mat together with Warrior Amazone (at the "Summer Bash" Event of the IMA-Girls in Ireland).
