I punch myself several times a week with a set of two metal balls, one is 6 pounds, and the other is 10. They are some kind of decorative fishing weights I think. I use the 10 pound one to punch myself in the navel and breadbasket for a deep thudding penetration that leaves a dull ache in my gut. I use the 6 pound one to hit my solar plexus, because I can swing it faster to create the sharp pain that occurs from a good plexus shot.
I started off doing this when I first started doing working on abs around age 13. Used hammers and such, then I started doing it for my own enjoyment until it got really painful. I don't do much of it these days. I used to take a medicine ball and slam it on my abs but it just bounces off, lol. I used the bar from a dumbbell the other day. That stuff just doesn't bother me these days, lol.
I've been offline most of the summer- weather has been too friggin awesome to be online & just noticed this subject. U can punch Urself all day long (& it certainly helps) but having trained w Radner Bearman, using the 2 handled med ball is the best way to go. Prior to covid, we trained for 9 months & during that time, he is being modest- we used to compete & while training w me, he regularly pounded his gut 1000X; in fact, toward the end of our training, he got me up to about 1000 hits (w the 20 lb med ball) & we would continue to go at it- our records were well over 2000 hits combined, his closer to 3000. It's the best example of forced impact training & highly recommended. & I have to tell U, as per Mr. 6pac above, having a hammer is cool too- I have bought the heaviest mallet I could find, (3LBs) & used to hit my gut 50-100X; also bought a baseball bat but couldn't find any volunteers man enuff to use against me, sad face, lol. I've had to lay off but this summer have gotten back into it despite the fact that my diet isn't as strict as last year (what the hell? It's the time of covid, I aint giving up ice cream, grin). Keep Ur fingers crossed Coach- as the weather cools down, I just may get back into a routine tho the pool was still 80 degrees today (swimming 2500-3500 meters every day also helps keep me hard & trim). If U don't have a med ball, U can also use weight plates or dumbbells BUT as Coach mentioned, U should ease into it w some regular core training- the 6pac abbies have an advantage but they're never as tuff as they think they are, just sayin...
I like self punching a lot too. Sometimes I also take a hammer and punch my abs with it ... When the tense abdominal muscles are hit with the hammer ... a really good feeling.
I love get selfgutpunching..my latest video are exclusively selgutpunching..can take a lot of hard puncn..love that sensation..but not better with a real guy..😊😊
Your body is a work of art, but you need to upload to Youtube if you want a lot of people to see them. Facebook videos aren't so good because they are way too public. You can put the links in your profile too.
I have been taking the 22 and 25 pound two handled medicine ball in the gut as hard as I can drive it into me for over 10 years I can take it 500 blows. Rest 5 minutes and go again. When I train others on here they are using the ball the same way. But you must have very hard stomach muscles when you attempt this. After 40 years of boxing, this in conjunction with high weighted reps on all CORE exercizes. I find that this keeps me hard. If you read my blog you will see some of the guys who have let me help them become Gladiators they all take the ball hard also
With the quarantine, I'm curious to find out what others have been doing as a self punching activity. I've been using a medicine ball in a drawstring bag.
