So this is the colour scheme I've decided on. (I'll end up using only three greytones – I'm planning on mixing the two darkest ones.) Thanks Giant_Slayer for suggesting grey – it's neutral, easy to combine, and nicely menacing 😈

Here we go, guys! Hope to have the room ready to go in a week or two.

Yes, that is a speedball behind my head. 😄

And yes, that is a berimbau on the wall. 😄

(Reposting as a new topic – I think this got lost in a thread and I'd like to hear your opinions.)

So I've decided which room is going to become my fighting space (my teenage bedroom) and I'm in the process of clearing it out.

The room has a lot of bare wood, which I like, but the other predominant colours are white, aubergine (eggplant, for the Americans out there) and... lilac. Not a colour scheme you'd expect in a fighting space.

It occurred to me that if I'm going to paint, I'd better do it before the mats and anything else goes in.

So that got me thinking... which colours are best for a fighting space? What colour scheme would get your fighting juices flowing?

It would be great to hear your input.
