Satin looks great but isn't very functional. If I am fighting with corner support, I wear a hooded terrycloth robe which holds in all of my pre-fight warmup heat & sweat. I wear a Tyson towel under the robe so my chest stays warm after taking off the robe in the ring and then I have my second pull off the Tyson towel right before the bell for the first round. For normal sparring and gym fights, I wear a short sleeved hoody sweatshirt that lets me get my headgear & foul protector on, then I take it off and get the gloves and get in the ring.
Pro Tip: If you want to be a fighter, don't step into the ring cold and without having broken a sweat in pre-fight warmups. I've seen this so many times in gym sparring, amateur and pro fights; the boxer that answers the opening bell without a trace of sweat on the torso gets KTFO'd.
i always have loved the boxing robe. one my favorite fantasies is massaging a muscular fighters shoulders in their robe. getting them amped up for a fight. am i the only one
