OK. A story to tell about armwrestling a gay guy. If you are not gay, please ignore it. This is a TRUE story. Nothing exaggerated. About 17 years ago I was one some random gay website and I typed in: "Why can no other gay man beat me at armwrestling?" A random reply was received some weeks later. Some guy named RICK who lived in the Bryn Mawr neighborhood here in Minneapolis replied: "I CAN!" I was intrigued. We set up a meeting at his house. It was a nice little house with a boat and large pickup truck parked outside it. He answered the door. His dog "Chopper" happily greeted me too. Chopper was a Black Lab who helped Rick during their hunting expeditions, I was told. Rick was 5 11 175 lbs...unassuming, yet quite handsome. I had 2 inches height and 15-20 lbs on him. He didn't look like a gym rat, or anything. Other than an unusually big set of pecs, he looked just like just an average guy there in his crew cut white T shirt. After pleasantries were exchanged we got down to the business of discussing armwrestling. He asserted that he used to armwrestle a lot in his youth to the amusement of his older brothers, always challenging everyone they could find and into his 20s and he never, ever lost a match to anyone. A small table was set up and we set about to find out how good he really was. 1...2...3 GO! And then it happened. All of the sudden all of those normal sized arms and average guy muscles (except those big pecs!) absolutely EXPLODED into formidable MUSCLES. His biceps, which were moments earlier seemed like an average Joe's, were actually hiding in ambush became baseball shaped and his veins and his shoulders bulged in a way that seemed shocking to me. I narrowly won, feeling sandbagged. We went at it right and left multiple times, and because I do not "kiss and tell", I will just say that I had MANY narrow victories that day. We met two more times, and the results were the same. After the 3rd time I asked him "Can we keep doing this?" He said "I don't think so" and alluded to the fact that he was starting to have feelings fo me and he already had a partner. 15 years later, or 2 years ago, I stumbled on him on a different website. I didn't recognized him from the pic on his profile because his back was turned from the camera, but he sent me a message "MARK! Is that you?" I answered back: "Who are you?" He answered : "It's me, RICK" And then all the memories flooded back. I begged to meet again. He said "Yeah, maybe". And then he disappeared off of that website a few days later. I will just say those were the meetings of a lifetime given, if nothing else, how surprised I was.
