Am I the only one on here who gets repeatedly challenged by guys who are 190+lbs ? Now I like a challenge, but giving up a third of my body weight to an opponent does make me think twice
The main factors in a fight are skill...then fitness/strength/aggression. Age can also be a factor. For wrestling, weight is not a very big factor unless you're talking styles like sumo wrestling. For submission wrestling, weight is a very small factor.
I've taken on several opponents 190lbs+ that were no challenge to me as their actual ability was very low. I don't gauge people's fighting ability or the 'challenge' on their weight.
Apologies on behalf of all of us heavier guys if being challenged by us is not that welcome. People obviously have different motivations for approaching all types of possible wrestling opponents, but I would imagine that many heavier guys are like me and love wrestling lightweights because they are often very fast, which makes for an exciting match, often very different from wrestling another lumbering heavyweight, and/or because the humiliation factor of being owned on the mats by a smaller guy can add something really good to a bout for those of us who like squash matches. So please do take the approaches as a compliment. 👍
But look at your profile. You clearly state you are looking for guys near your size. At the very least have your own profile be inclusive of us smaller guys.
With that said TOMO67 shouldn’t complain if he didn’t state his own preference.

I read your profile. Where FI state your size preference?
Frankly, I am flattered by catching anyone’s attention.

Is that to me? I donʼt see where I do say that!
