It will be interesting to see as it was good in it's day - until the Crabtrees wrecked it with the joke duo of Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks. The most notable thing about Shirley was where his tackle disappeared to. I think it was last seen heading for his bum.
I wish they'd get away from the legacy Big F***ing Daddy. A non-wrestler whose ridiculous belly flops brought a once noble tv sport into such disrepute it was hardly a surprise that it lost credibility.
Please let this be a chance to plant in the public consciousness a new generation of great skilled pro wrestlers without make-up, glitter, steroid muscles or signs of early onset Type 2 Diabetes. And without the participating of fading celebs or ex politicians (Although Ed Balls can stay)
skull murphy with the eyes made up..adrian street and bobby barnes were a bit too made up. mick mcmichael tearing the green glitter ringjacket was pure Slade or The Sweet gear
i still preferred the bloke from the pub look...terry rudge or barry douglas
However there was mention of it on another wrestling site and I googled "World of Sport Wrestling returning" and found numerous articles so it seems to be true.
I read that British wrestling is returning to the nation’s TV screens for the first time in 30 years with a one-off World of Sport special in December 2016. ITV is planning a two-hour special, which will take the same format as the show, which aired on BBC’s Granstand for 20 years. Apparently ITV are showing the special over Christmas featuring some of the UK’s current pro-wrestlers – including The East End Butcher’ Sha Samuels, Dave Mastiff, and ‘Viper’ Kimberley Benson.

So many handbags flying lol

I suspect MMA has replaced it now for a lot of people. I'll look forward to it though because I never got to see WOS first time round.
Worryingly Simon Cowell seems to be sniffing around it too.
