I think all of you make valid points, but Boxerman is right on the mark with "trying to obtain or find references for the guy(s) you are meeting up with". If no one knows him locally, then a warning sign has been posted and you have to decide how comfortable you are in making that trip to meet him/them. I travel often but ensure that my trips are primarily for my own personal interest and not for the wrestling. If late minute cancellations occur, it could be legit or you found a flaky person. This world is full of oddballs and they love the internet.

Contrary to popular belief, piling on the "?" and "!" will not help solve your dilemma. It just makes you sound like whiny bi people.

Seriously, what is this about? You didn't go into any of the specifics. Where you went, who you wanted to meet, how you went about setting up your meetings. It all of them got canceled, might be you are going about it the wrong way, isn't it?

What I do when I go to the UK (it's been a while) is have a local set up my matches. I found that it's a much more reliable method, than me trying to arrange them from Hungary.

All:

I have three rules for this sort of behavior.

1. CHECK the guy out thoroughly.BEFORE the fight. 3 references from locals and a non- local (that you know personally) are good acid tests for the fakes and flakes. Know whom to ask. 2. Dont fuck up your network. Show up, be there and if they cancel, assume the honorable excuse. 3. Real guys who want to fight are pretty rare in the boxing world. You have every right to be picky. Ive been doing this for over 20 yrs.. you generally know the real opponents.

Hope this helps

Seriously i guess i understand what Cornejo ist talking about. A lot of the people on this site are chatters... and chatters only with no intention to meet in real. If one makes dates or appointments with them, they signal interest at figst, but then they do not show up. That was i think the key of cornejos dissappointment.

Say... person A gets challenged by B. A does not like B from the pictures and also thinks that B is too old or heavy. So... fighter A simply writes "Sorry dude, wrong weightclass, we are no good match!". A clear and simple message, situation is clear.

Cornejo says that peeps respond, expressing that they want to meet and 5 minutes before the actual date they get sick, get ball bugs or allufasudden or develop a painful hurt joint etcetc... :)

What is not to understand in his message and why should it be his (the one who simpyl asked the others) fault??? It is simply a sign that this site and the personal is to a certain (high?) percentage timewasters...

hey, its not a problem of wrestling or injury and certainly its has nothing at all to do with you!! i m in europe and this is the same here but not only for wrestling but for a lot of other activities as silly for example as to fix an appointment with your electrician or your your plumber or whoever to come and see a work to do.. first you fix an appointment well in advance then you check a few day before...there, already some cant be joined others say they have "urgencies" elesewhere... and that they wont be able to show, and those who said it s still ok won t show on the fixed day!!!!! and!! they re supposed to make money!!!

i sadly think the society has become like that and that people are less kind and reliable to each other

but i would really like to know why!!!!

I think the reason for this is that sites like this one are used by a lot of guys as material for "solo sex." They get into online relationships and discuss wrestling and think about what it would be like to wrestle you, based on your discussions and pics, when they are doing the solo thing. But in real life they never intend to do it in person. Don't take it personally, they probably assume that you are like that too and you get off talking about setting up things while not really expecting it to happen. The guys listed as past opponents who you can contact and confirm that someone does it for real are your best way of separating the real wrestlers from the solo sex types.

Can anybody tell me why so much guys from here are ...??

I tell something that I happens very often. I was planning a trip to some citys next week and asked a lot of guys if there were ready to get visit from me for a normal fight. Nothing brutal or so. Some answered that they will not and some that they have no time. Thats ok.

But what not ok is will I let you now know: the most of the guys who told that they wanna meet and have time wrote now, 4 days before my travel starts, that they are SURPRISING injured or now have to work or now not more interested. WHAT THE F*** is here going on? From 20 guys which are wanted to meet me before are now 19 guys cancelling all. And this not happened the first time. I had 2 Trips last Year and the same happend there too!!!!!

Can anybody tell me how we could handle this? I feel very pissed of the guys who are here just for their erotic stuffs and nobody is here more real for having a good fight. THAT SUCKS.

I just want you all to know what I feel and why i react so.

This site is very good for the guys who wanna have a fight and everybody can ask my last opponents that I also can handle and be patient with my not so skilled opponents. But why are then so much afraid or not getting into the mood for a normal fight. If guys have a "little" injury they also go to work. So why cancelling with reasons of a little illness a week before???
