I have packed on the pounds over the last couple of years. According to some guidelines online I am now "Extremely Overweight". My waist measurement has increased another couple of inches since September.

Looking for some large 18-22oz boxing gloves!

I had a great boxing session with David (boxermichigan) last Saturday. He loaned me a no foul protector and trunks and patiently laced me up properly in several of his very nice pro fight gloves.

David is a great guy and really into boxing like me!

I have added some photos from the boxing session to my gallery.

I am pleased to announce that on December 29th, boxermichigan and myself will meet for a pro-rules boxing match scheduled for 12 rounds. We will be fighting with 12oz gloves. The boxing match will take place in the Toronto area.

Just a quick note that I am moving up a weight class.

Most of the time since I started boxing in private sessions I have been a Light Heavyweight <175lbs. I'm happy to report that I'm now a Cruiserweight in the pro weight classes and a Heavyweight >178lbs in the amateur.

I have always been open to matches against opponents outside my weight class but now I will be a better match for larger opponents.

For the last month or so I have been taking a boxing class. I'm getting in better shape and improving my boxing skills.

Does anyone want to help me break in my new boxing gear? Looking for anything from friendly sparring to full-contact boxing. I'm available in the Toronto, Niagara or Southwestern Ontario areas..

Just got back from the store. It was a pretty successful trip!

Tried all the gloves they had and changed my mind on what to get based on seeing them first hand and trying them on. I ended up with these 16oz gloves for sparring because they were just as good as most others for less money:

It was great to spend the time to try on all this equipment before buying.
