Tom was an excellent opponent! Both strong and skilled he was much bigger than me but didn't overpower me. We had a long hard fought match and I'd recommend him to anyone for a good hard fought match! I'd look forward to wrestling him again!

Have locked up with this strong bull several times. Each match is always better than the last. Looking forward to our next encounter. He's a great guy off the mats too. Definitely don't pass him by if you get the chance.

Joe is a great opponent and a great guy. He is skilled and in good shape. He beat me a few times although I got some subs too. Always a great match and great to hang out with too. Definitely recommended.

Rough pro expert....big and strong and lots of tough fun. Looks great in his gear. Great seeing the vets from years ago on here still into the scene.

I met spirit at his abode for our match after seeing a match request on MF, he made me feel very welcome from the moment I arrived, and after a cuppa we got down to wrestling on the mats.

We had a slower paced wrestle with me seeming to gain the upper hand in a not initially intended heel / jobber match, he fought well but I had a bit more experience which enabled me to gain the upper hand in this match.

He was a pleasure to meet up and wrestle with. I hope spirit enjoyed wrestling with me as much as I enjoyed wrestling with him, really nice guy both on and off the mats. I hope we can find a mutual time to meet again.

I would certainly recommend him if you get the chance for a meet up to wrestle

Having first spoken in 2006 (!), we finally got round to wrestling today, and it was worth the wait. I had a great time on and off the mats. He might claim I went easy on him, but I certainly got a very good workout. All round nice, reliable guy, good host, and honest about any limitations he may have from time to time.

D’abord par messages, de nombreux messages d’ailleurs, j’ai tout de suite été à l’aise avec lui : il est avenant, très amical et extrêmement compréhensif. Puis quand on s’est enfin rencontré, ça a été encore mieux : en plus de tout ça, il a une sympathie et une bienveillance sans égales !

Pour ma première séance de pieds/poings, je ne pouvais pas tomber mieux. Extrêmement pédagogue, il s’est tout de suite adapté à mon niveau, et je me suis nourri de tous ses conseils et de son enseignement, c’est un excellent professeur, ça ne fait aucun doute, j’ai beaucoup appris en une seule séance.

Les échauffements, l’application de techniques et enfin le sparring, tout s’est passé à merveille, et j’y ai pris un plaisir fou ! Je reviendrai l’affronter pour sûr :). Pour une première rencontre sur MF, c’est un cadeau immensément généreux que j’ai reçu de sa part.

Alors que vous soyez expérimenté ou non, mon conseil est le même : allez le rencontrer (en plus sa salle est vachement cool) !

At first by messages, a lot of them actually, I instantly felt comfortable with him : he is prepossessing, very friendly and extremely comprehensive. Then, when we finally met, it got even better : on top of all that, he has a sympathy and a benevolence which hold no equals.

For my first kickboxing session, it could not have been better. Extremely good with teaching skills, he immediately adapted himself to my level, and I fed on his advices and his instructions, he is an excellent teacher, there’s no doubt about that, I learned a lot in just one session.

The warm-up, the learning of techniques and the sparring at last, everything went perfectly, and I took mad pleasure in it. I’ll come back to face him for sure :). For a first encounter on MF, it’s an immensely generous gift I received from him.

So whether you’re experienced or not, my advice to you is the same : go meet him (plus, his gym is really cool) !

I had a really fun wrestle with Leanmachine tonight, who promised to go easy on me as I am out of practise. I had a bit of a twisted back when we first spoke last week but thankfully my back was problem free, so the match today was definitely on !
I learnt pretty quickly that trying to get his legs in a figure4 lock was not going to be possible.. this guy is strong... and his legs can crush you in seconds if you let them... The gold singlet fits him very well too !
I had to tap out of a Boston and a Head Grip, but did manage to get a tap out or two in return, but as I said, he was definitely going easy on me.. and I think I lost another couple of bouts oveer the couple of hours in my mat room.
Off the mats, and between bouts, he is every bit as nice as he appears. Intelligent and knowledgeable on any subject that comes up...
Given time, I know he could have annihilated me, but we could also have solved all the problems in the world...
Tomorrow I hit the gym big time, so I can give Hugh more of a challenge next time he comes to London... in the meantime,, I am now heading for a hot bath and a muscle soak.
